Phillip Jeffries: Twill’s Brand Picks
In our new series of blogs, Twill’s brand picks, we delve into the rich history and fascinating designs of the world’s most luxurious wallcovering designers. This week, it’s the turn of world-renowned wallpaper brand Phillip Jeffries to enjoy its time in the spotlight.
Over 40 years ago, the Phillip Jeffries family-run business was founded using just 10 grasscloths and an old garage.
This may be an all too familiar backstory in tech giants, but it’s rare to see a wallcovering brand such as this come from such humble beginnings.
Founded by Eric Bershad, the brand has gone from strength to strength since its conception.
In 1975, Phillip Jeffries moved into their first warehouse – an empty, unheated room in the heart of New Jersey. Within just two years, Eric, his wife Susan and Susan’s mother opened their first retail store.
When we said it was family-run, we meant it.
Fast forward to 2008, now with sons Phillip and (you guessed it) Jeffrey on board, and Phillip Jeffries doubled the size of its New Jersey headquarters to over 20,000 square feet.
With a whole host of awards on the way, including two “best places to work in New Jersey” accolades, there’s a high level of respect for the way in which this modest business has turned into an interior juggernaut.
Now stocking over one million yards of wallcoverings, Phillip Jeffries’ main goal has always remained the same, even with their meteoric rise: to make it easy to bring beautiful design to interiors.

There’s no one style this brand has a close connection with – that’s because they excel in many different forms of their art.
However, if we were to pick one particular showpiece, it would be their grasscloth wallpaper. Paying testament to their low-key beginnings, their eye for detail and beautiful design has never wavered.
If you’re not particularly looking for grasscloth, that’s no problem.
From stunning digital murals to eccentric print designs, you’re never short on choice, just as you are never short on quality.
The same rings true for their silk collections. Divinely crafted by their unsurpassed team of experts, expect to find luxury in every millimetre.
